Weekly Warm-Up: Fabric-Covered Suitcase

Found this and thought it would be interesting. How to cover a travel suitcase with fabric. This would be cool for carrying your embellishments!

Scrapping my history

So I saw a book the other day in Hobby Lobby called "Scrapping Your Family History". I flipped through it and thought this was a perfect idea. I am a genealogist and being able to put my family down in words and pictures is super! I had already bought some patterned paper and then when I went to Michaels, their heritage paper was 4/$1. So.......I bought about $4 worth of the paper.

I've been flipping through magazines to get some ideas and learned last night how to emboss. Tonight I have the house to myself, so I am going to print some pictures and make some scrapbooking pages. When I get them done, I will post them here.

What? No stores?

I am here in Nashville, Tennessee visiting my parents. I looked on the internet to find any scrapbooking stores in Hendersonville (where they live) and in Nashville. Can you believe there are none? I saw Hobby Lobby and Michaels - but no store just for scrapbooking/cardmaking. In a town this big -- and surrounding towns??? What is that about? Perhaps I need to come down here and start my own store.

In the beginning..

Well, today I decided I would start my own blog -- get in the real world of technology! I love all the scrapbooking and cardmaking blogs that I subscribe to and am constantly searching for others. I am eager to find out what other people are doing!

I want to learn to make some neat cards. It is too expensive to buy a Hallmark card. People read them and throw them away. So why not make one that they will want to keep for a while? And what about making a cool scrapbook of the boys growing up?

So........I have bought cardstock, patterned paper, embellishments, glue, stamps, ink, a Cricut machine, and the list can go on. But I guess you have figured it out that I have bought a lot. I just received 2 more cartridges in the mail, making my total to 6. My latest are Paper Doll Dress Up and Walk in My Garden. I have used the Paper Doll cartridge, and cannot wait to make some people from it. I already own Heritage, Wild Card, Going Places, and George & Basic Shapes.

Last weekend my cousin Alicia and I spent 2 days doing nothing but cutting out designs from hers, mine, and my friend Bobbie's cartridges.

And I now belong to a Stamp Camp. We have one person pick the designs we will make and teach others how to do it.

Here are some of my creations (made on my own as you can tell). I hope to make more in the next couple weeks. Then perhaps I can get good enough to join some blog hop!
