Spring Challenge

Today I was invited to "Scrapbookaholic Abby Challenge #2". It is to make anything that has to do with spring. I first made a card 4 x 5 1/2 of pink cardstock. I cut a piece of patterned paper out and glued it to the front (I used spray adhesive - it smells bad, but works wonders!). For the side of the card, I used a border by K&Company. Then I stamped "Love Life" on the card and used glitter for the words. For the flowers, I colored them with markers. Because I had never used Stickles before, my sun looks a little sad. But that is ok; spring makes everything beautiful! I decided I wanted to try something different. So I used the other piece of 4 X 5 1/2 cardstock to make another card. I used scrap green heavier paper and some pretty circle flower paper to cover the front. The yellow flower is an adhesive embellishment and then I put the ribbon on with Mini-dots. I think Spring has Sprung!

Flower and Sentiments

Today I thought I would prepare for a scrapbooking weekend. So I was looking through magazines and found a card that I used as an inspiration. I did not follow their instructions; but rather made up my own. (They used big flowers in the middle of the card; I chose to spritz flowers and put them in different sections of the card.) What do you think?

Craft Room

Well, I am all settled into my new craft room. I have a large area to work on; four cabinets to store my adhesives, punches, ink, and paper in; four shelves to store other embelishments and chipboard on; and another storage area to use. Thank you to my husband Rory for giving me this room (he got a new room in the house so he gave me this PERFECT room)!

Last week I made a couple cards. First was this one I made for my brother Brian's birthday. He is a country boy at heart, and is opening his own RV service. (I used the following carts: Going Places and Paper Doll Dress Up.)

Then I created a birthday card to store for future use.

I am getting excited because next weekend I am going to St Louis to a Girlfriends Getaway and will be making cards all weekend with my daughter-in-law Megan. I look forward to having fun and much anticipated time to concentrate.

March 26 is Be Yourself Day

I saw this challenge and thought I would get into it. It is "Pick Your Own Holiday" by Scrapbookaholic by Abby. So I picked "Be Yourself Day". We should not try to be someone else or what someone else wants us to be. Be yourself. Let people love you just the way you are, with all your blessings and all your faults. If they don't like the way you are, then tough toenails. God loves you just as you are!
